Having studied embroidery and woven textiles at glasgow school of art (graduating in 1986), Sandra saw a successful career in interior design. She returned to painting in 2007 and continues to draw on her textiles training to create textural effects using mixed media.
her ‘scapes’, from sea to city, emphasise natural patterns and particularly identify the relationship between light, water and nature. she strives to capture the atmosphere and evocation of the scene, and often repeats the same image or subject matter using different colour schemes and light effects, subtly creating a new, unique atmosphere.
Sandra has completed many private commissions described as visual memories for her clients. She has exhibited across scotland including at the RGI (ROyal glasgow institute of art), PAI (Paisley art institute) and VAS (Visual arts scotland) annual exhibitions. SHe has worked in Europe, the U.S and Canada.
